Growing up in a high-density city in South Korea, the artist lived in a high-rise apartment and never experienced living with animals. When she moved to New Zealand, she had her first pet, a sheep named Max, who experienced happiness, sadness, and loneliness just like humans. She formed a deep bond with Max, considering him part of her family.
